Validated self-reported outcome measures including the mean numeric pain rating scale (NPRS) and Quick Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (QuickDASH) were taken at baseline. Participants were treated with two to eight sessions of DN to the LHBT and an ECE program and stretching of the biceps muscle. At discharge, patients completed the global rating of change (GROC), QuickDASH and NPRS. Results: Patients had an improved mean NPRS of 3.9 (SD, 1.3; p < 0.001), QuickDASH of 19.01% (SD, 10.8; p < 0.02) and GROC +5.4 (SD, 1.3). Conclusion: Findings from this case series suggest that DN and ECE may be beneficial for the management of patients with chronic LHBT tendinopathy. Further research on the efficacy of this novel treatment approach is warranted.]]> Wed 27 Jul 2022 12:48:25 AEST ]]> Hippotherapy in adults with acquired brain injury: a systematic review https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32752 Wed 23 Feb 2022 15:36:02 AEDT ]]> Physiotherapists' attitudes toward circuit class therapy and 7 day per week therapy is influenced by normative beliefs, past experience, and perceived control: a qualitative study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:34144 Wed 13 Feb 2019 11:29:00 AEDT ]]> Evaluation of three measures of cardiorespiratory fitness in independently ambulant stroke survivors https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:42384 2peak) and heart rate (HRpeak) were recorded. There were no differences (p > 0.05) in mean VO2peak among the three tests (min-max: 17.08–18.09 mL kg−1 min−1,). For individuals, small discrepancies in VO2peak between the 6MWT and other tests were greater with higher fitness levels. HRpeak was significantly (p = 0.005) lower during the 6MWT. Correlations between VO2peak and performance measures within each test were high (6MWT VO2peak and distance: r = 0.78, SWT VO2peak and shuttles: r = 0.73, cycle GXT VO2peak and workload: r = 0.77) suggesting the performance measures may be clinically useful as proxy measures of CRF. Common comorbidities, such as lower-limb joint pain and poor balance, and participant’s fastest walking speed, should inform the choice of CRF test.]]> Tue 23 Aug 2022 11:15:21 AEST ]]> Patient adherence to an exercise program for chronic low back pain measured by patient-report, physiotherapist-perception and observational data https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36853 Tue 14 Jul 2020 13:56:08 AEST ]]> A national study of the availability and use of electrophysical agents by Australian physiotherapists https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8288 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:40:29 AEDT ]]> Weight management including dietary and physical activity advice provided by Australian physiotherapists: a pilot cross-sectional survey https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:14490 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:21:41 AEDT ]]>
